Web site for an existing company (5 pages)

Create a brand new web site for a real company using:

  1. Dreamweaver and CSS
  2. Library elements (Craig will demo in class)
  3. Favicon and iPhone icon (Craig will demo in class)
  4. Font-face rule (Craig will demo in class)
  5. CSS inline media queries (deliver your web site to smart phones and tablets) (Craig will demo in class)

 

Web Site Design steps

  1. Choose a real web site that needs to be redesigned—find a really poor design (screen capture it for the "before" stage)
  2. Re-design the home page (Photoshop). Use the existing content/copy/photos from their site. You may change, improve and update content as you see fit—just make it better!
  3. Be sure to research your competition, define your brand message and target audience
    • Again, use the thumbnail and brainstorming steps that work best for you
  4. Craig's demo's will fall in here. We'll cover cool web tips to greatly improve your web workflow and updating efficiency
  5. In class critique of first home page re-design concept (be sure to show the before and after)
  6. Make changes to home page
  7. Design the 4 remaining pages for your web site (you choose which 4 pages to do)
  8. In class critique of 5-page web site
  9. Make changes
  10. Present final web site to class
