Vice-President

Treasurer
Aaron Hedges

Duties include:
- Collect money owed (dues, conference registration, hotel fees, etc) in a timely manner (use the envelope approach)
- Keep accurate accounts of money brought in, paid out, and money owed
- Maintain accurate individual accounts on spreadsheet
- Deposit money in the business account office (Coleman 132) as soon as possible
- Requisition all checks, keeping in mind lead time
- Submit receipts with all check requisitions
- Make copies of all checks received (use chapter copy card)
- Work closely with the chapter Secretary, President, and Project Chairpersons
- Communicate with other officers and members by using Blackboard to post information
- Be a team player—collaborate
- Attend your classes and display a “lead by example” philosophy
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions
Secretary
Kari Siverhus

Duties include:
- Keep the minutes of every meeting
- Upload meeting minutes to the Western Student Government web site weekly. Website is http://www.westernstudents.org.
The username is siverhusk and the password is collegiatedeca.
- Post meeting minutes on Blackboard by the following day
- Display and highlight meeting minutes at the start of every meeting
- Fill out all forms necessary for conferences (FLC, Regional, State) and the National dues roster (Fall deadline-October 1, Spring deadline=February 15th; these are completed electronically)
- Responsible for the 15th of the Month report to the State President from October-February. Points are awarded for the Chapter of the Year award
- Write and send thank you cards, invitations, and other correspondence as needed
- Work extremely close with the Treasurer as well as the officer team and chapter members
- Communicate with officers, members, advisors, and Western staff
- Attend classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy
Historian (2)
Jenn Brown, Erin Kies
Duties include:
- Attend every function (meetings, conferences, fundraisers, etc.) to photograph events.
- Develop photos in a timely manner (keep receipts and submit to treasurer; make sure chapter has appropriate funding before you submit).
- Be responsible for getting photos in an album or on a cd/powerpoint presentation.
- Take photos that will enhance the positive aspects of all involved in WMMA. No pictures of obscene gestures and/or provocative situations will be allowed. These will be used for recruitment purposes.
- Include all members in photos, not just a select few.
- Communicate with other officers and members as well as the Public Relations Officer.
- Attend classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy.
Parliamentarian (1)
Caleb Erickson
Duties include:
- Learn Robert’s Rules of Order (see Barb for video checkout)
- Attend parliamentary procedure training on campus (Leadership Night).
- Keep order in meetings according to parliamentary procedure.
- Communicate with other officers and members.
- Attend classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy.
Public Relations Officer (2)
Lacey Martin, Alex Thomas
Duties include:
- Maintain the Display case with important information, agendas, etc.
- Compose press releases after special events (conferences, fundraising, etc.). Submit to Julie Lemon, campus pr person, who will forward the information to the newspapers. See Barb for new guidelines.
- Portray positive oral public relations with school administration, instructors, and the business community.
- Communicate effectively with other officers and members.
- Attend your classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy.
Regional Representative
Louis Gums
Duties include:
- Update the Chapter on Regional activities.
- Work with the State Western Regional Vice President to assist in planning of the Regional Conference in February.
- Attend as many functions as possible. You will be introduced, along with the chapter President, at the Fall Leadership Conference in October and the State Conference in March.
- Communicate with other officers and members.
- Attend classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy.
Student Government Representatives (4)
Jeff , Alex Thomas, Megan Peck
Duties include:
- Attend all scheduled student government meetings (see calendar).
- Report back to the chapter on items discussed at the student government meetings. This should be scheduled on the next chapter meeting agenda. Please make sure the President and/or the VP knows to include you in their agenda planning.
- Represent WMMA in a positive and professional manner.
- Attend as many chapter functions as possible.
- Communicate with other chapter officers and members as well as SG reps from other organizations.
- Attend your classes and demonstrate a “lead by example” philosophy.

Student Government Committee Representatives (4–6)

- Join and attend one of ten official student governement committees
- Attend bi-monthly committee meetings each month (Meeting times vary per committee)
