Group Work - Design Fundamentals
Group Work and My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that you have to learn things on your own, with a little help, direction and guidance from me and the resources used in this class (other students, Web sites, textbooks, real-life samples, projects, etc.)
So… our weekly group activities will have you learn and comprehend through the following process:
- You will read, learn and develop your own thoughts about a concept first—in collaborative groups
- Then, (as needed) you will analyze real-life samples using your new knowledge. The goal here is for you to be able to identify how other designers have applied the concept.
- Your analysis will also include examples and non-examples. (what it is, and what it isn't)
- Next, you will present and defend your findings to the class and me
- I will fill in any areas you miss as you present—to make sure you have all the information needed
- Lastly, you will apply these newly learned concepts when you do your class design projects
