Export a Low-Res PDF From InDesign

One of the best way to present to a client (and to your class) is with a low-res (screen resolution) PDF. This also works nicely when you have to email a presentation to client.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open your file in InDesign and select File > Adobe PDF Presets > [Smallest File Size]….

  2. Name your PDF file and choose a folder to save to. Click Save.

  3. A new window will appear. This is the Export Adobe PDF options box. Match yourPDF job options to the boxes below:
    General

    Compression

    Marks and Bleed

    Output

    Advanced

    Security

    Summary

  4. Click Export.
  5. Be sure to open your presentation file in Acrobat and make sure it looks good.
