  1. Idea Brainstorming Results

Step 1 - Complete Brainstorming Wheel 1 by yourself

Find your favorite “creative” environment and complete brainstorming wheel one on your own. Imagine yourself transported into your client’s "brand experience." This could be their retail store, web site, packaging, product, etc. What do you see?… feel?… hear?… etc. Write down at least 10 ideas per category. This may take some time. You do not have to do it all at once. Sometimes, small breaks (of 1 hour to 1 day) helps to separate yourself from the problem and start thinking with a fresh mind again.

The goal of brainstorming is to get your mind thinking of all the different creative directions and elements you could use to communicate your client’s brand and message to the target market. Don’t limit yourself when you brainstorm. Get crazy and free with your ideas. It will help you break free from the “tired” old ideas that we have all seen too often.

Remember, creativity doesn’t always flow freely, it needs nurturing and nourishment. If you're not feeling creative in one environment, change it and move to a different room, or go outside, or to a coffee shop or restaurant, etc. You may also try taking a walk outside to help clear your mind and get the creative juices flowing again. Some people take a snack break to refuel and then get back to work. Chocolate works wonders!

Step 2 - Complete Brainstorming Wheel 2 as a Group

Find your group’s favorite “creative” environment and complete brainstorming wheel two together. Explain your client’s brand to your group and help them imagine what it is like. Ask them what they see?… feel?… hear?… etc. Write down at least 10 new ideas per category. Do not repeat ideas that you wrote down on wheel one.

Step 3 - Design Page 3

For booklet page 3, choose the ten best ideas from brainstorming wheels 1 and 2 and design a page that shows all ten categories and your ten best ideas for each category.

This page should look creative and interesting. Make sure the information is easy to understand and clear. Review previous students samples to see inspirational and cool layouts.
