Play and Pause Buttons in Flash

Several students have asked how I created my play and pause buttons for Edrick's animated video on edricktheinventor.com. Here you go…

1. First, create your play and pause buttons in Flash. Here is what mine look like:
   
   
   
   
2. Then, in the first frame of your actions layer enter the following action script
   
   
   
   
3. Try it out. I think it gives the user more control over the movie.
